Saorgus Energy
is currently involved in several major wind energy projects in Ireland.
All are at advanced stages of the development process.
At present Saorgus Energy has over 200 MW of onshore wind power in
development. The company (or associated companies) currently owns and
operates three wind farms in Kerry – Tursillagh 1 (15.2 MW),
Tursillagh 2 (6.8 MW) and Muingnaminnane (15.3 MW).
It retains ownership of the land in the case of the Derrybrien Wind
Farm, developed with ESBI. It sold the rest of its interest in the
wind farm to the ESB (Hibernian
Wind Farm).
It is also developing the Dublin
Array, an offshore wind energy project on the Kish and
Bray Banks, off the east coast of Ireland. This project has a capacity
potential in excess of 700 MW, enough to supply in excess of 600,000
homes with clean, green electricity.
